Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has thrown out a challenge to create a waterfront hotel in the City, in honour of the island’s cricketing greats.
She made the call during a Town Hall Meeting at Kensington Oval ahead of the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup.
Among the cricketing greats in the crowd were Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Wes Hall and Joel ‘Big Bird’ Garner.
Prime Minister Mottley says Barbados has a brand called the Legends, and it is high time the potential for creating a regional brand, similar to Sandals, is explored.
The Prime Minister says there is no reason for Government to own a warehouse on the water, when the land can be better utilised.
Additionally, she made it abundantly clear, this tournament signals to the world Barbados is once again ready and open for business.
