Minister of Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology Marsha Caddle says women in the military have a role to play in maintaining peace in the region.
Ms. Caddle issued the reminder as she spoke to CBC News at the Exercise TRADEWINDS – Women, Peace and Security Endurance and Mental Dexterity challenge.
She says Barbados should feel very proud about hosting TRADEWINDS 2024.
The Minister added that Barbados should be proud of hosting Exercise TRADEWINDS 2024.
She says the activity, which is a United States Southern Command-sponsored military exercise conducted annually in the Caribbean region, is a true testament to the success of regional integration in the area of security.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant (Coast Guard) Karen Carvalho, who is also the Women, Peace and Security Lead for TRADEWINDS 2024 says the physical challenge went relatively well.
