Complaints against Barbados mobile telecommunications providers are on the rise.
The Fair Trading Commission is reporting it has been receiving a lot of complaints attributed to the mobile telecommunications sector.
Statistics provided by Director of Consumer Protection, Dava Leslie-Ward show that during the period 2013 to 2015, 24 complaints were made.
This, however, tripled to 86 from 2016 to 2019.
Among the issues identified, consumers are unable to keep up with data notifications.
Ms. Leslie-Ward was among the guests for CBC TV8’s programme, The People’s Business -where the topic, of the mobile telecommunications code was discussed.
Ms. Leslie-Ward says the FTC has been assessing the time limits offered by service providers following mobile top-ups.
