Barbadian triathlete Matthew Wright has his eyes set on booking a ticket to next year’s Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The 31-year-old recently clinched successive career-best performances, winning gold and finishing fourth at the 2023 Americas Triathlon Sprint Championships in Colombia and Mexico.
Currently Wright, who is ranked 60th in the world, sits in a qualification spot and is optimistic of maintaining his position to reach the Olympics.
He says he’s in good shape to compete for the remainder of the season.
Wright is slated to compete at the Brazilian World Cup on October 15 before travelling to Chile for a two week training camp to prepare for the Pan American Games.
