Despite staff constraints, the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme is trying to reach as many communities as it can across the island.
Co-coordinator, Dr. Elizabeth Ferdinand notes there was a perception when the virus first hit, that it only affected old people.
However, she says children are getting sick and encouraged parents to get them vaccinated.
Dr. Ferdinand was available to answer questions posed from the public on the MADD Radio Show on 98.1 the One.
During the programme she said people can be vaccinated three months after recovering from COVID-19.
Following recent concerns expressed by the Pan American Health Organisation, Dr. Ferdinand also revealed that pregnant women and nursing mothers can also take the vaccine.
