Breastfeeding policy needed

Local employers are being encouraged to introduce workplace policies on breastfeeding.

Minister of Labour Colin Jordan, believes it is an area businesses should focus on as the effort continues to improve the health of the nation.

He made the comments at the annual general meeting of the Breastfeeding and Child Nutrition Foundation.

Mr. Jordan says additional consideration could be given to the provision of daycare facilities. He says the Government recognises it also has a role to play as a major employer.
