Call for inclusion, equality for deaf community

There’s a need for full inclusion and equality for the deaf community on island.

This is among the take away messages of a new video on deaf awareness, which was screened on CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.

The country, through the initiative, has also been told that when such individuals are given the opportunity, they excel in every area.

Interpreter, Bonnie Leonce says the video highlights that inclusion works and deaf people are capable of doing anything.

Ms. Leonce welcomed the support from all involved in the initiative and the businesses embracing sign language training.
