Barbados grabbed eleven medals on day three of the Carifta Swimming Championships in the Bahamas Monday night.
In the first event, the 200 meter individual medley, both Danielle Titus and Nkosi Dunwoody swam to gold in the 13 to 14 age group.
In the girls’ event Titus finished with a time of 2 minutes 29.36 seconds, while in the boys’ Dunwoody clocked 2 minutes 18.32 seconds.
Also medaling in the individual medley were Luis Sebastian Weekes in the 15 to 17 boys’ with a time of 2 minutes 10.04 and Jack Kirby 2 minutes 11.18 taking silver and bronze respectively.
In the 50m breaststroke Dunwoody rose to glory once more collecting his second gold of the night and fourth of the tournament, setting a new national age group record with a time of 31.04 seconds.
In the girls’ 11 to 12 200 meter butterfly events the duo of Keilani Talma and Aza Dunwoody took the silver and bronze respectively with a time of 2 minutes 38.47 and 2 minutes 38.56 while in the boys’ category Christopher Pollard swam to gold in 2 minutes 25.80.
Weekes medaled once more in the final 200 fly event collecting silver in 2 minutes 11.18.
Barbados collected their final two bronze medals in the 4 x 200 freestyle events with the 13 to 14 boys taking it in 8 minutes 42.84 while the 15-17 boys in 8 minutes 7.43.
That brings Barbados' total tally to 31 medals with the game’s final session still to swim Tuesday night.
