Consultant paediatrician Dr Michele Lashley says diabetes education is more effective when based on self-management and is child and parent centered.
Dr Lashley was among the slate of presenters at the annual Oscar Jordan Symposium.
Her focus was the management of diabetes in children.
Dr Lashley says physical activity should become the norm for children.
Dentist Dr Marsha Straker during her presentation shared the dental practitioners experiences in dealing with patients with poorly controlled diabetes.
