Clement Payne Movement denounces Zimbabwe coup

The Clement Payne Movement is denouncing the apparent coup in Zimbabwe.

President David Comissiong says former president, Robert Mugabe, though not perfect was unlawfully removed from office.

He insists Mr Mugabe was democratically elected and instead of the coup, those against moves to appoint his wife, Grace as his successor should have challenged him politically through the ballot.

South Africa's president, Jacob Zuma has become the first world leader to congratulate Zimbabwe's ousted vice president, Emmerson Mnangagwa in person for succeeding Robert Mugabe.

The country's new leader will be sworn in as interim president at a ceremony Friday.
