Minister of Small Business Entrepreneurship and Commerce Dwight Sutherland, has given the assurance his ministry will work with key stakeholders, promoting initiatives that will stimulate the economy, creating new areas of wealth.

He was speaking launch of the annual services week, by the Barbados Coalition of Service Industries.

He advised entrepreneurs to focus on improving their standards to enhance competitiveness.

He is telling them, the development and enforcement of domestic and international standards is key to the greater integration of Barbados into the international trading system.

Executive director Graham Clarke says though financing remains a key concern for players in the services sector, providers are asking for mentors as they seek to grow their businesses.

He says the Coalition has been playing a key part in supporting and raising the profiles of numerous entrepreneurs and service providers.

One way it has done so is through the annual week.

The 2018 edition comes off from November 17th and 18th.

Mr. Clarke says focus will be placed on information and communication technology, health and wellness and the creative industries.

He wants entrepreneurs to embrace technology.

Other activities for the week include a health and wellness expo and a cultural showcase.
