The health minister is encouraging young people to make healthier choices regarding what they eat.
Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic gave the advice at the launch of the Healthy Caribbean coalition's schools' initiative at the St. Michael School.
Speaking during the morning assembly he told the students Barbados has a large percentage of children who are obese and that's a problem.
Minister Bostic impressed upon the youngsters why that needs to change and the consequences if it doesn't.
The health minister also told the students unhealthy eating will negatively impact on their dreams and aspirations.
