McDonald Walkes, better known as “Mackie”, of Belleplaine, St. Andrew, Retired Foreman of the Barbados Water Authority, Son of Ermina and Hilary Walkes, Husband of Margaret Phamfiela Walkes nee Watson, Father of Anderson Cumberbatch, Grandfather of Shane Clarke, Naiaa-Marai Cumberbatch and Shariya Piggott, Stepfather of Damon Knight, Brother of Gordon, Eunice and Anita Walkes and Dorita Weekes, Uncle of Wendy Hartley, Sandra and Juliette Clarke -all of the U.K., Gregory and Orlando Walkes and many others, Father-in-law of Karen Cumberbatch, Friend of Kenneth Vaughan, Christopher Small, Levere Greaves, Melvin Hunte, Orlando Ramsay, Renaldo Holder, St. Clair Doughlin and many others.

The funeral of McDonald Walkes leaves L. R. Harris Funeral Home, Husbands, St. Lucy on Friday, October 12th 2018, at 2:00 p.m. for St. Andrew Parish Church where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 3:30 p.m. for the service, followed by the burial.


The organist is asked to attend.


Flowers may be sent to L. R. Harris Funeral Home no later than 1:45 p.m. on Friday.


The body will repose in the chapel of L. R. Harris Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
