Barbados were trounced 7-nil in their opening their game of the Caribbean Football Union women's challenge series in Jamaica Wednesday evening.
Coming up against Cuba in their group 'b' fixture at the Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence on the UWI Mona Campus, the first half saw the Bajans conceding five goals, which was more than they could pull back.
After the game, assistant coach Michael Foster said that the loss could be put down to a lack of fitness and some tactical mistakes.
Foster added that the Cubans were not that much better than the Bajan ladies, but admits that the team gave away some silly and needless goals.
Looking forward to the World Cup qualifiers, they have to work a lot more on fitness along with more tactical and technical awareness of the game.
Barbados' next assignment is against Jamaica Thursday.
