The St Phillip man who was remanded to Dodds Prison for using indecent language against police has been released.
According to reports, around eight Thursday night, 25-year-old Darius Kenrick Bowen of Number 47A, Sand Dunes Drive, Sandy Hill, was released after pleading guilty to the charge.
The offences were committed along Grove Road, St Philip, when Bowen and the driver of the vehicle in which he was travelling got into a heated argument with police.
It was captured on a video which has since gone viral and continues to spark debate about the power of police in Barbados.
Police say members of the Tactical Response Unit were merely carrying out a random stop and search routine, which the two men believed was being done unlawfully.
Since the incident, Assistant Commissioner of Police Erwin Boyce said members of the force have the right as long as the reason for the search is clearly stated.
