David Comissiong will be Barbados' next Ambassador to Caricom.
This was revealed during day two of the 39th Regular meeting of the conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community being held in Jamaica.
The Ambassador designate says the first order of business when he officially takes up his new role will be to look at building regional industries.
As it relates to finally establishing a fishing agreement with Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Comissiong says the level of thought must be much broader.
He says we must move away from looking at just two sets of fishermen in controversy and seek to create a CARICOM fishing industry that will benefit everyone.
