The Barbados senior netball team leaves the island Thursday for Jamaica to engage in a three match series at the national indoor sports center in Kingston.

The series is for the Bajan Gems to have some practice and game time against international competition to assist with their quest of qualifying for the Commonwealth games which is set for the Gold Coast in Australia next April.

That Bajan Gems side is -: Rhe-ann Niles, Latonia Blackman, Damisha Croney, Shonette Azore-Bruce, Teresa Howell, Sabreena Smith, Shanice Rock, Shonica Wharton, Sheniqua Thomas, Tonisha Rock-Yaw, Rieah Holder and Rashida Chase.

Now, the top 12 netball teams will compete at the championships and Barbados is currently ranked 12th while Jamaica are ranked fourth.

The deadline for the teams to qualify is set for July 1st of this year.
