The Central Bank of Barbados has announced a revised approach to the estimation of gross domestic product, or GDP, in Barbados.

GDP measures the total value of all final goods and services produced in an economy during a specific period of time, usually a year.

The Bank says the revised real GDP figures prepared by the Barbados Statistical Service for the period 2006 to 2017 are to be official estimates of real GDP in Barbados.

As a result, the real GDP data previously produced by the Bank will be discontinued in its current form.
