A local company has shown its corporate social responsibility in a major way with an extensive painting and clean-up exercise at the popular Brandons beach in St. Michael.
Approximately 150 staff and managers from Mount Gay Distilleries took part in the exercise, which started around mid-day.
Staff members painted the bathroom facility and also cleaned up the long stretch of beach as part of the exercise.
The company also provided some new park benches for the use of beach-goers.
Managing director of Mount Gay, Raphael Grisoni says it was also part of a wider group initiative by Mount Gay's parent Remy, in which companies in the group sought to give back in some way through an initiative in their immediate communities.
