$20 million dollars have been invested by Canada in the development of technical and vocational education, TVET in Barbados and the region.
Following the implementation of the Caricom Education for Employment programme, CEFE and the Skills for Access the Green Economy programme, SAGE, introduced in late 2010, several successes have been recorded.
The CEFE was designed to increase the quality of skills based education in 12 Caricom countries and increase harmonization of certification and support the use of Caribbean Vocational Qualifications, CVQS.
Canada and its partners recognised the gains during a function at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel.
High Commissioner to Barbados, Marie Legault says thousands have been trained through CEFE.
