The Barbados Revenue Authority officially launched phase 1 of its new online integrated tax system last Friday.
According to BRA officials, it is aimed at creating a simpler and more efficient tax-filing environment for the Barbadian public.
To this end, people in the local business sector, such as employers, corporations, VAT-registered businesses and business tax agents, have started registering and filing in the BRA's new tax administration management information system, better known as TAMIS.
Business taxpayers have therefore been reminded that they will require their new tax identification number prior to filing their June, 2018 tax returns.
The BRA says TAMIS is set to bring a range of benefits to taxpayers, by simplifying the filing process, and improving the communication lines between tax officers and taxpayers.
