Britain’s Prince Charles will be the guest of honour as Barbados transitions to a Republic on November 30th.
According to an official statement issued by the British High Commission today, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley extended an invitation to the Prince, as future Head of the Commonwealth, to attend the Republic Celebration.
Prince Charles will also undertake a short programme of engagements in Barbados.
His last visit to the island was in March 2019 during a Caribbean Tour with the Duchess of Cornwall.
The statement notes that the Royal Household will take all necessary measures to comply with COVID-19 regulations and guidance in Barbados during the course of the event.
