Residents of St. Lucy are advised that the Barbados Defence Force (BDF) will conduct a Gunnery Exercise on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021, west of the Arawak Cement Plant.
The aim of the training exercise, which will take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., is to ensure the operational readiness of the Barbados Coast Guard in its mandate to protect and safeguard the island’s territorial waters.
The BDF has further advised the exercise will pose no threat to mariners, fishermen and other personnel operating in this location. However, operators of all marine craft are urged to keep clear of the area and to use extreme care and caution during their activity there.
